Getting to know my new camera and getting to know Lucy!

I am not one to lose things easily.
Actually, I just lied to you.
I lose things all the time.

One thing that I have lost is the charger to my camera.  I searched and searched and have yet to find it so lately, I have been using my iPhone to take pictures.  It was working great until my iPhone kept annoying me with constant notifications saying that I was using up my storage with my pictures and that I had to manage them properly.

Peter must have gotten sick of showing me how to manage my photos, or he likes me.  Either way, he got me a new camera!  I was really excited to try it so we spent the rest of day walking around town and checking out what my new toy was capable of.

But why tell you about it when I can show you!

Please excuse my lack of makeup.  I worked early and was so tired, I didn't really care whether I had it on or not.

We stopped at a candy shop and indulged ourselves in some carbonated, high in sugar, goodness.

And I tested my camera out on our way to Utah to meet Lucy!

I have been wanting to see Lucy ever since I got that first picture of her from my brother.  I had to work that weekend, and with our fun Conference weekend with the Thompson's, we couldn't go down until this past weekend.

While waiting for Lucy, as excited as I was, I couldn't help but feel sad for Lil' Mike.  Even though he is just a dog, I could tell he didn't quite understand why no one was paying as much attention to him as usual.  He loved the attention Peter and I gave him so we decided to take him on a fun walk.  We liked getting some fresh air (or at least as fresh as Salt Lake can offer) and Lil' Mike loved it!

Even though he isn't mine, and even though there will be many more nieces and nephews that I will love like crazy in the future, that funny, stubborn, hairy, slobbery, noisy, and sometimes smelly pooch has and will always hold a special place in my heart.

Then the moment came when I finally met Lucy!
I was so excited to finally see her!  She is so beautiful and when I held her and interacted with her that first evening she was at my parent's house, I could tell
that as she grows up, she is going to be a lot of things.

She is going to be a very patient person.  My mom, my sister, and I were always looking for an opportunity to snag her from one another and hold her for as long as we could until someone else snatched her up.  And she was totally cool about it.

She is and will always be loved so much by her Grandma JuJu and Papi (Grandparent's titles are in the works but these are the favorites so far)!

She is going to have a great sense of humor.  Even as a sleeping baby, she was capable of making everyone laugh at her funny facial expressions.

This one was actually mid-yawn.  But still a funny face.

Hands down, my favorite picture of her.

She is going to have the most beautiful eyes!

She is going to love Lil' Mike! And Lil' Mike is going to love her! (Even if he isn't so sure about her right now)

And she and her Aunt Jill are going to be best buds!

She was sad we were leaving that day.

To put it simply- she's practically perfect in every way.

It was a fun weekend to just get away and meet the newest member of our gradually growing family.  And we'll have an even more exciting weekend come Friday when I help Peter get ready to fly to Iowa for a fun trip and to interview with Nestle-Purina.  I'm so excited for him!

Keep your fingers crossed!
