Dentists, Doctors, and Turkey...

This past week was quite a week!  Thanksgiving was coming up and in preparation for it, I went to the dentist...and the doctor...
For insurance reasons, I went to Utah to get a check up at the doctor's and while I was there, I went to visit the dentist.  But no ordinary dentist.  I got my teeth checked by my brother!  At first I was worried it was going to be really weird but it wasn't that bad.  The only thing that was weird was me being known as the "Doctor's sister".  But it was a good weird.  I couldn't trust anyone more with my teeth than my big brother!
After a normal visit to the dentist and a dismal trip to the doctor's, my family decided to have an early Thanksgiving dinner, seeing as it will be the only time everyone will be together (besides Peter.  Poor guy had to stay up in Rexburg for work *frowny face*).  My mom and dad did a great job making the table festive and it was great to just sit back and enjoy the company of my family.
The great table with my great dad!

It couldn't be a full family get together without Lil' Mike! (and Peter)

I left Thanksgiving morning to go back to Idaho.  It is always very hard for me to leave my family but at the same time I knew I wanted to share Thanksgiving with Peter as well and I couldn't leave him up there by himself on a holiday.
As soon as I got home, I got our little turkey in the oven and got everything else ready for our feast.  It isn't much compared to the dinner my mom made, but it was enough to leave me and Peter stuffed for the rest of the evening.

Our only Thanksgiving decoration.  Peter's homemade turkey!

It's hard spending the holidays away from your family.  We both were pretty homesick for our families that day.  But one thing that we were grateful for was that we could celebrate Thanksgiving with each other, our own little family.

Belated Halloween Post

K.  This is probably my record of longest time it has taken me to post something after a specific holiday.  I finally put the pictures into my computer and as I was looking through them, I noticed that I didn't post the pictures of the Halloween season!  I'm not a big fan of Halloween.  The holiday just never really appealed to me (what I love are the two holidays that follow Halloween.  But that is for a different blog post...) but I love the fall season and Lori was in town so we thought it would be fun to carve pumpkins.  We held a contest to see who carved the best pumpkin (Zach and Lori claim their pumpkin won, but I beg to differ!). After that, the cute couple got all dolled up for a fun dance.  It was fun seeing Lori and Zach and it was a pretty successful Halloween, despite my dislike for the holiday.

Feast your eyes on this!

Go-Karts, a Wedding, Fires, and Conference...

It's been a while since I've posted anything on here.  Mostly because these past few weeks have been busy!  Going to visit family is always a fun way to get away from school and this little freezing town we like to call 'Iceburg'.  The first weekend of October was especially fun because we got to visit both Peter's family as well as my own.

But, of course, we couldn't start our fun without a little bump along the way.  We were about an hour away from home when we hit something in the road.  It was then we discovered that old tires and nasty sharp stuff in the road don't mix.  Luckily, we had a spare and Peter was able to fix it in record time.

After we got home and slept, we helped my mom get everything ready for the dinner the night before the wedding.  My brother did something a little different for the dinner.  They decided to go to Boondocks Family Fun Center.  All of the guests were allowed unlimited go-karts, miniature golf, arcade games, and laser tag.  It was awesome!  The food was great and it was fun to see the whole family have fun together.

Getting ready for Go Karts with the cousins, Emily, and Thomas.

The only good picture we could get of us after the festivities.  I know...I know...

The next day we got to see Michael marry his beautiful bride, Cambri.  They both looked awesome and the ceremony was great.  The reception was awesome too!

Emily, my cousin Lexi, and I waiting for the couple to come out.

Michael and Cambri Visser!

Peter not posing with his food.

Lil' Mike in the line.  Looking happy...

Mom and Michael (sorry it's not such a good shot.  I'm still trying to figure out my camera.)

Family huddle before the send off!

It was a fun night! I loved seeing Michael so happy and Cambri is a great addition to our family.  Congrats you guys <3

The day after the wedding was Conference.  So, after watching that, we went to see Drew, Jessica, Lori, and her now boyfriend, Zach (I can say that now.  It's on Facebook!).  We all had a yummy dinner Jessica prepared and then went to have some dutch oven dessert over an open fire...somewhere (I can't remember where we went).  It was a lot of fun joking around with everyone and the apple crisp turned out to be great!  I left my camera back at my parent's place so I had to, yet again, steal Jessica's photos.  Thanks Jessica!

The next morning, we went over to Christie and Tyler's place to watch conference and have breakfast with them.  It was fun to play with the kids.  They have so much energy in the morning!  We (tried) watching conference with them and then we went over to Grandma Etta's place to have lunch.  The last time we had seen Etta was over a year ago at our wedding so it was great to see her again.

The kids loved playing with their Uncle Peter...

...while Caroline was hanging out with her Aunt Jill.

I know what you're thinking.  "Jill must have picked this picture because she looks so great in it!" False.  I picked it because I thought it was a good one of Drew and Peter.  I just happened to be there.

Breakfast with the Barnes (and Thompson) clan!

Trying to be good for Conference.

Peter and Topher pooped at Grandma Etta's.

Family photo time!

Peter chose to walk home with Topher...
...while I crammed in the car with everyone else!

As crazy as everything was, it was a fun, fun weekend!  I was so depressed to go back to Idaho after seeing everyone and I'm still a little homesick two weeks later.  We can't wait to see our families again, hopefully sooner rather than later.
