Temple, Friends, Deer Antlers, and One Pound Burgers...

This past weekend was great! Our good friend, Bobby, came up to see us again and this time, seeing as Peter and I both managed to have the weekend off, we actually planned out our weekend so we weren't stuck playing Call of Duty and watching Netflix all day...every day...the whole weekend...

It started off with Bobby coming on Friday night and us enjoying his company. Nothing too exciting happened then, mostly cause it was too late to actually do anything (even on a Friday night, everything here closes at about 10:30...yay Idaho...)

The first event of Saturday's festivities, was a trip to the Rexburg Temple (I didn't take pictures due to the bad weather and it being too cold to stand outside, waiting for the camera to work). It was amazing! I love the spiritual high you get after going and it made the rest of the day seem relaxing and better, despite the blizzard that was taking place outside.
Shortly after that, we decided to join our friends at a burger place outside of town called "Big Jud's". They are famous for their burgers, especially their 1 pound burgers. They have a challenge there where if you eat a certain number of the 1 pounder, you get your picture taken on their wall of fame. Why anyone would put their stomach and arteries through that is beyond me, and none of us had the nerve to do it, but the burgers we did have were great and we had fun messing with the camera and enjoying the restaurant's "decor" (Me and Peter thought it would be funny to put our head in place of the deer antlers that were hanging on the wall and pretend to be deer. Mine looks kind of lame but Peter has it dead on. Note: I promise we are normal and do have normal friends, despite what you may see in these pictures).

Sunday we enjoyed dinner with some friends of ours and let me tell you, nothing is better than sitting around with a full stomach, laughing and goofing off with friends, totally ignoring what was on the television.

Good weekend? I think so. Will it happen again soon? I know so.

And some pictures to go with that recap...

Okay. I know. I've been really bad at this updating the blog deal. But now that I have a camera as my Valentine's gift from my wonderful husband, I now have more motivation to update more often.

The first pictures are of Valentine's day. Due to busy schedules, we kind of dragged out Valentine's for a couple of days after the 14th. It started with our good friend, Bobby, coming to stay with us for a few days. It's great having him stay with us. Bobby helped me hang up a bunch of hearts from our ceiling. Almost every one had something I love Peter written on them. We then exchanged gifts. I got Peter a book written by Dave Ramsey. Peter is a major Ramsey-maniac and he loved it. In return, I got the amazing digital camera from Peter. Finally, some nice treats sent from our mothers gave us that nice sweet tooth craving we wanted.

A few days later, we went out to eat at a new place in town, Gator Jacks, with our friends Chad and Kylie. The food was awesome and it was a lot of fun hanging out with them.

While this Valentine's Day was a little different than previous Valentine's Day extravaganzas, it was a great one nonetheless. Valentine's Day is a wonderful way to remember the people you love. This Valentine's was especially wonderful because it was our first Valentine's spent together as husband and wife. No present can match a hug, a kiss, and the words "I love you" said to you from the man of your dreams.

Recap on life Thus Far

Well everyone (its Peter) it has been a while since we have last written anything here on the good ol' Blog but after some goading from family we have decided its time to write something to appease. Since last time I've started school and a have had good friends visit and celebrated a few holidays.

School is going good and I love my Economics class. It is Microeconomics and I have learned a lot from the Law of Diminishing Returns to Utility and Utils! So this should be a great major for me, everything is just "clicking" well for me. I have been giving some thought on where I want life (career wise that is) to go and many of ya'll know that I love to listen to Dave Ramsey but probably don't know how much! I own three of his books now (one of them was a wonderful Valentines Day gift from Jill!) and I love what I have read and learned. I like what he does and would love to be in that position one day, to be able to teach people about money and help them get out of debt and build wealth. That would be one of the most rewarding things that I feel like could do. I would like to own my own business with that as part of the mission statement. We will see where life takes us over the next few years but ultimately that is vaguely where I would like to be (as it develops I will keep ya'll updated).

This upcoming Thursday there will be a "Discovery Fair" or in other words a Career Fair. There are a few business that are coming that I am excited to go meet. So I'll put on my shirt and tie and go smile at them and see what happens.

This last week we had Bobby come up and that was a lot of fun to have him up here. We went out to eat and hung out (time didn't really permit to do much). He helped Jill hang up part of her Valentines Day present to me (I'll add a photo later) and kept us company when one of us was gone at work or school. We played some Call of Duty and saved the world from Nazi Zombies and watched shows about Hoarders.

For Valentines Day I got Jill a Digital Camera (with the condition that she starts blogging more!) and a smooch and she got me Financial Peace University by Dave Ramsey (which is awesome!) and a smooch.

Well that's all for right now and I promise that we will both start posting a little more on here! Enjoy :)
