New nephew and new missionary...

May has been a busy month for us.  In fact we have traveled more so far this year, than we ever have (or at least it seems like it)!
First we had Emily's wedding at the beginning of the month, then we went back to Rexburg, only to turn around a week later and go back to Utah to see my little brother Thomas leave for the MTC.  Before we left, we got the pleasant announcement that we received a new nephew, August Wyeth Thompson!  We were already so excited to hear about our new niece, Naomi, that the news of August coming just heightened our excitement.  We also knew that August gave his mom a hard time during pregnancy that we were relieved that he was finally here so he could cut mom a break!

We came a couple of days before Thomas's farewell and we really wanted to meet the new edition to the Thompson clan, so we drove another hour to meet him at the same time that a certain little cutie was turning four so not only did we get to hold and cuddle a cute baby, but we got to celebrate and play with a cute birthday girl and her cute siblings.  There was also a performance of "Let It Go" performed by Miss Maddie that I just had to record.  Blogger is giving me issues uploading it, but once I figure it out, I'll post it here.  (It is so cute but if this blog is around in 14 years, she will kill me.)

Some of August with his pacifier...

...and some without his pacifier.  With or without it, he's precious:)

I would have to agree with what Maddie said to me, "He's a really good baby!"

Such a cute birthday girl!

After we said our goodbyes to the Thompson's, we went back to my parent's place to help get ready for Thomas's farewell the next day.
Thomas's talk was wonderful!  There wasn't a dry eye in the room.  The fact that he had to speak on Mother's day added to the mixed emotions.  Peter had to leave to go back to school after his talk so he said his goodbyes while I decided to stay until Thomas left for the MTC.

Of course, Lil' Mike was there, entertaining  the guests as well as begging for food.

Then Wednesday rolled around and so did the inevitable.  He packed up his bags, we packed up our tissues, and we headed to Provo to drop him off for two years.  I didn't think it would be as hard for me to say goodbye to my baby brother, but when he came to hug me goodbye, I lost it, along with my mom and my little sister.

He was so nervous!

Welcome to the family, August! We love and miss you, Elder Visser!
