Life in the Davenport Purina plant is pretty busy these days, which means that Peter has to work very long hours.
Peter doesn't like it.
Murphy doesn't like it.
I don't like it.
I had this past weekend off of work and Peter surprised me with a suggestion that we should go away for a day. Somewhere we've never been. We didn't want to go somewhere that was too far away, didn't make sense to spend most of our day driving. So we decided to drive 56 minutes to Iowa City.
Iowa City is home of the University of Iowa, so we saw a lot of Hawkeye memorabilia, college students, and cute little boutiques. We didn't have enough time to see all of Iowa City, but I was glad Peter and I could spend a little bit of time together before the week gets busy again. And now that we know how close we are, hopefully we can plan another trip there before we end our Iowa chapter and move on to our new adventure (whenever that will happen).
