Scenic Drive to Galena with Murphy (part 4 of major update)

We heard lots of great things about Galena, Illinois.  One weekend we both were lucky enough to not be working, so we decided to take a little drive and explore this cute little town.

The drive itself is only an hour but when you factor in all the stops we made to check out the pretty scenery, it took most of our day.

We took so long on the scenic route, that we weren't able to spend any time in Galena (the picture above is the only shot I got of downtown Galena.) Turns out, everyone had the same idea as we did so not only were we unable to find a good parking spot, but Murphy was so tired from all the walking he had to do, we didn't want to subject him to any more 'torture'.  So we turned around and headed back to Davenport.  Where we enjoyed a quick ride on the ferris wheel at a local baseball game, and headed back home.

It was a short trip, but a fun one nonetheless.  I wish we could've gone back to give Galena another try before our move, but with the busy months that followed, it'll have to wait I guess.
