Three days 'til Christmas...and still here...
Well finals are finally done! I'm free for the next little bit while Peter will finally be starting in January and he cannot wait (which personally I find a little odd that he be excited, but that's Peter for ya!) Now the next thing to look forward to is CHRISTMAS! Peter and I have enjoyed decorating the apartment (with much thanks to Peter's mom and my mom), and counting down and preparing to come home for the holidays. Unfortunately, due to the giant burden of work, we can't leave Idaho until Christmas Eve:( So we're staying here and enjoying what we can of the holidays in our small apartment until we can go to my home in Utah (Georgia next year:) ) and better enjoy the holidays there. In a few days, we'll have family, a fireplace, legitimate food, and family to be around. But for now, it's nothing but work, housing people who need to stay here a little longer, enjoying each other's company, and looking forward to spending our first Christmas together :)

A great visit from a great friend!
This past week, we've had Peter's best friend, Bobby, come and visit us. Of course, Peter and I love having company stay with us so having Bobby here was an extra special treat. Peter and Bobby have been best friends since Peter's been in Georgia and I've known Bobby for as long as I've known Peter. In fact when me and Peter got married, Bobby called me his "Best friend in law"! Can't say that I've ever been called that before!
The first thing that happened when Bobby showed up was, of course, him and Peter started playing Call of Duty...and they kept playing...for hours...and hours...and hours...I didn't complain (At least not until the third day of this:) though. It's not everyday that your best friend comes a ways to hang out with you. When they weren't playing video games, they made fudge, we watch movies and TV shows, Peter and Bobby "sang" (you'll have to see me to see the video footage. Peter won't let me post it on here hahaha!) and just enjoyed each others company. It was sad to see him go and we look forward to seeing Bobby again soon!

7 friends+1 cute baby+1 turkey+1 Wal Mart= One Fun Thanksgiving!
Well Thanksgiving has come and gone and now it's time to report about that great holiday.
Thanksgiving this year was a little hard for me seeing as that it was the first Thanksgiving I spent away from my family (did I mention I hate work?) and that I was spending it was a nasty cold :(
Luckily, we had some good friends that invited us over for Thanksgiving dinner. After waiting some time for the turkey to cook and for Peter to come back after I sent him home to get the camera and some more stuff for our pies, we finally sat down and had our grand feast! We went around and said what we were thankful for. Of course, I said I was grateful for my wonderful husband and my great family and friends (and Peter said the same about me:) only I'm his wonderful wife. I don't think he has a wonderful husband...at least I hope not...) after filling up on turkey, rolls, soda, and potatoes, I crashed on the couch with Amy and her little baby Haydn, while the men played a serious game of Risk. And by serious I mean super long...
Ten o'clock rolled around and we all decided it would be fun to hit Wally World and see all the "fun" people that were up waiting for Black Friday. It was super crowded so after a while we finally left and headed for home. We then laid on the couch together and watch "Charlie Brown's Christmas" together (now that Thanksgiving was over, I didn't feel bad watching it anymore:).
All in all it was a great holiday. Had I wished I was with family in Utah? Of course! But would I change the fun Thanksgiving I had with some great friends? Absolutely not:)

My First... Post and Jeep :)
Well hello everyone, I like the whole idea of a Blog and love Jill for starting one but I never seem to know what to write about, and even on the rare occasion when the stars aline and something worth reporting in my life happens I am meet by my arch nemesis.... creative writing! So try to enjoy the post!
The stars did aline a yesterday and and was given the chance to buy a Jeep Cherokee. I don't know exactly why I love that car so much, but I do. Granted it is not perfect but I love it. It is a Jeep Cherokee with "personality". The key only works on the ignition, the windshield needs to be replaced (ASAP) and there are a few dings and scratches here and there. It has a 2" lift and it is only a 2 door, but all in all... I love it!
This week I also registered for classes, come January 2012 I will finally re-start school. Since starting school in August of 2007 I have only been able to go to 3 semesters of classes. This is due in part to the mission (which is way better than school in almost every aspect... I say almost because I didn't get to marry Jill during the mission!). I am excited to get back into school, and to start studying and move forward with life. The light at the end of the tunnel seems pretty far away right now and I want to start walking! I am going to be studying Financial Economics, my friends tell me I am business minded and I love learning about finance.
Well that is about all for now, I will try and put up some pictures in the near future.

Honeymoon, Winter, Charlie Brown, and Hot Oil
I finally have some pictures to go along with my latest blog updates! I apologize for my blog being boring due to the lack of photos. I promise I'll try and be better.
-Anyways, about a week ago we've had the pleasure of having our good friends, Brighton and Brett Brooksby over at our place for some cocoa and video games (the boys played video games, Brighton and I played in the snow). We love having them over and Peter loves having a Nazi Zombie buddy here.
-I told Peter that I wanted a Christmas tree and he knows of my love for Charlie Brown. He isn't that big of a fan but because he wanted to, he bought me the Charlie Brown Christmas movie and a Charlie Brown Christmas tree! A great start to our Christmas decor collection!
-I finally buckled down and uploaded our honeymoon pictures from Peter's computer. Not just to put them on the blog, but because I wanted them on my own computer so I can see them too. We went to North Carolina and Georgia for our honeymoon and it was AWESOME! We got to spend some time with Peter's brother Drew and his wife Jessica in North Carolina and Peter's family in Georgia and it was a lot of fun. I hope we can go back again soon!
-Recently, I've been trying to become a better cook so that Peter and I don't always have to resort to fast food and cereal almost every night. I decided to make chicken and pasta and I made the mistake of putting too much oil in the pan along with a little bit of water that was still on the chicken. One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to cooking is hot oil splattering everywhere and whenever it happens, I almost always ask Peter to deal with it. This time he told me to just be brave and try to do it myself so I got myself ready for it. Note...I really hate hot oil on me...
So there ya go! Hope you've enjoyed them and I promise I'll be better at updating. I know I keep saying that but I feel like if I keep saying it, it'll eventually happen...
Until then!

Blog Update for Lori cause she keeps telling me to update it...
Alright. Once again. I'm really really sorry it's taken this long to write a new post. Remember when I said life has been pretty busy? Well not much has changed there. Luckily, I have the pleasure of running into my sister-in-law, Lori, on campus and after every conversation we have, she tells me to update my blog. I finally found a little window of time and so now I will try my best to update you all as best as I can.
Halloween was just like any other day for us. We both had to work so we didn't really have time to celebrate the festive occasion (not like we wanted to. Halloween isn't one of our most favorite holidays). After work, we came home and just enjoyed each others company like we always do.
November First was a big day to celebrate. It was my little brother, Thomas' birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY THOMAS!), my parent's wedding anniversary (HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOM AND DAD!), and it was the day that our good friends, Amy and Hermes welcomed a new little baby boy into the world. Peter and I had fun going and visiting them at the hospital and getting to hold the cute little one in our arms. He also had that great baby smell that made you want to smell him for hours but you couldn't cause you would look like a serious creep if you did.
November Seventh I had the opportunity to go see some cadavers in our Anatomy lab for our science class. However, I missed it due to a bad cadaver dream I had the night before (I'm such a pansy) and that I just wanted to cuddle with my husband in our bed just a little longer:) Oh well. I'm sure I'll see a cadaver again at some point in my life...don't know how or why...but I'm sure I will!
Peter is starting to get ready for Winter semester as I'm trying to survive the remainder of this semester. He is a better student than I am so I know that he'll do great this next semester. He's such a little smarty pants!
Well, that's about it as far as updates go. There you go Lori! I promise I'll try to be better!
Until next time!

We're still alive!
Our deepest apologies to our readers (all 9 of you...) for being so slow in updating this. With midterms around the corner, life has been a tad busier than usual. Plus with the holidays approaching, Peter and I have been working more hours putting Halloween costumes up and handing out fliers about our "amazing sales that are coming up!" Peter's good about keeping his smile on his face while I'm turning into Mrs. Scrooge...
But before I go on about that, let's see if we can update a bit. Though, seeing that it has been forever since I've last updated this, it's pretty sad of me to say that nothing exciting has really happened.
1- Peter got me a Kindle for an early Christmas gift! And yes, it is a bit early, even for an early Christmas gift. But there's a reason behind his madness. We're going to be doing a bit of traveling for the holidays this year and he's not a big fan of me falling asleep in the car when we take long trips. So he thought it would be nice to keep me busy while he drives by reading my Kindle while he drives. I love it! I already have some books in it (not a ton but a few to keep me occupied:) and I'm still trying to figure it out but I'm really enjoying it! He's such a great guy for thinking of me like that! I'm one lucky duck!
2- Peter is finalizing his major here at school. Financial Economics! You know what this means?! More financial talk from my husband and his loyal sidekick...DAVE RAMSEY!!! Not really my cup of tea but oh well. It makes him happy :)
3- Fall is finally reaching us here in Idaho! It's getting colder, the leaves are turning into those pretty fall colors and they finally crunch when you step on them, and we're drinking more hot cocoa and apple cider. I LOVE FALL! It is my most favorite season! It's the best time of year. I don't care what anyone else says. It's the best. Enough said.
...I keep trying to think of more updates...Kindle...Dave Ramsey...Fall...yep...I think that's it. Like I said, not too much going on here...
Anyways, I'll try better to keep this updated so we all won't have to deal with these lame posts. I'm also trying to figure out how to improve the look of the blog (p.s. if anyone knows how to do that, I would appreciate some feedback :)
Until then!

And the calling goes to...
Another busy week has come and gone, full of fun surprises and yet more stress to come with everyday work and school. It all started on Sunday when the member of our bishopric called Peter in to meet with him, which could only mean two things- either he did something so bad in the past however-many weeks we've been there or he's getting a calling. Seeing as we don't really know anyone in the ward just yet and with us being too busy to actually do anything wrong, I figured that it was probably the latter. Being the supportive wife that I am, I went with him to church about a half hour early (that and he took the car and I really didn't want to walk to church). When a counselor finally opened up his door, I was surprised that he not only invited Peter into his office, but me as well. We both walked in and sat down to the first thing that came out of the counselor's mouth, "Well, I'm sure you guys have probably figured why we called you here." We both nodded and Peter, joking around, said, "If it's not a nursery calling, we won't take it."
The counselor went silent and looked at me. "Actually we really wanted to call you guys to be our nursery leaders."
Peter and I both cheered and gave each other high fives and instantly accepted it. We had our first lesson that very day and we were very excited to meet the little ones that we would be teaching. The first kid showed up and, like we thought, started crying when his mom left. I instantly picked him up and started rocking him back and forth and within five minutes he was calm, the same thing happened with kid #2. Kid #3 walked around with an "it's all good" face on and she gave us no grief at all. All the other kids started coming in and we had a great time calming them down and trying to entertain them so they didn't think about how their mom's left them in a room with two strange people. At one point, one of the girls wouldn't stop giving me the look of death as we were having singing time and Peter couldn't stop laughing about while I was trying not to notice.
We were only in there for an hour but it was great and we can't wait to get to know our kids more. Hopefully that girl will stop giving me that look but I would say that's unlikely.

One week later...
This week has been INSANE! Let me tell you!
It started off with classes being ridiculous! All the teachers must have gotten the memo that I'm close to finishing school because they decided to drop all these assignments and tests on me. So I wasn't the most relaxed this week which led to me getting an incredibly bad cold. So poor Peter had to deal with not only me bawling my eyes out cause of school, but hearing gross sniffles and Flem-contained cough along with my crying for the whole week. Bless his heart! On top of all of that, our toilet overflowed so the first few days of our week, there was water everywhere! And Peter had to deal with that too because I was too nervous about school!!! I'm so grateful for his patience and his willingness to help me in anyway he can. Don't know why he picked me but I'm sure glad he did!
Now that this week is over, school is not being so overwhelming, the bathroom floor is dry, and my cold is slowly going away, I'm hoping that I can be able relax a little more and not be so overwhelmed with everything from now on.
I got today off of work, which was really strange. I never get Saturday's off of work. And let me tell you, it was SO NICE to just be able to sleep in and to not have to be able to worry about anything. Peter had to work so I just hung out at the apartment and went around town with my good friend Kylie until he was done.
There ya have it! I would go into details about the week but I don't want to bore you any more than I have with this post. Hopefully my next post won't be so "woe-is-me" or anything like that.
Until then!

Thank Goodness It's Friday!!!
So one really rare thing happened today...Peter and I both had the day off! Well kind of...
I had classes all day today. And it RAINED!!! I loved it!!! I don't know if any of you guys know this but I LOVE RAIN! I love the dark clouds, I love getting caught in it, I love the smell of it, I love the sound of it, I just love everything about rain! Peter on the other hand wasn't too happy with it. Said it reminded him of his mission where it rained all the time. But I didn't let it put a damper on my rain loving spirit. After classes, Peter went to work for a couple hours at his part time job at Farmer's Insurance. After that, Peter and I went to walk to a local farmer's market. The whole farmer's market took over about about half of the Taco Bell parking lot but it was still fun to walk around and see all the fun things that people put together. This includes an all girl band of three middle aged women singing old songs that we forgot existed while asking for donations so they could make an album, a man named Fritz selling his bratwurst from his homeland in Germany, and a Latino woman asking us to sign a petition asking the Chamber of Commerce to stop referring to Independence Day as "Whoopee Day" (yes, we did sign it...)
After walking around the farmer's market 3 or 4 times, we decided to walk to Walgreen's to see if maybe they had a good movie in their Red-box for us to watch. But of course we should have realized that it was the first Friday night in a college town so of course all of the good movies were going to be out while the only movies left were a bunch of low budget films that no one has ever heard of.
We were getting tired and didn't want to walk anymore so we went back to our car and drove to Wal-Mart were we both decided that we wanted Apple Cider and Hot Chocolate to have for the night, the only problem was we didn't have any mugs...so we went shopping for mugs and I must say that it felt a lot like shopping for clothes, "Babe, which mug would look good with me holding it?" "Which one looks like it could be my mug?" After we picked our soul mugs, we went home to have our cider and to enjoy some wholesome shows consisting "Parks and Recreation" and the classic "Mr. Bean".
So all in all I would say that our day off was pretty successful. Who says married people are boring?

Man oh man!
So school has finally started and I'm personally surprised at how busy it's been keeping me. It hasn't even been a week yet! Work has been the same minus a few hours (now that I started school I'm only working part time) but I can't complain. At least I have a job right? My bed and I have slowly been growing distant due to homework and our meals have consisted of cereal and some Halloween candy Peter picked up at Wal-Mart. I'm praying we don't die by Thanksgiving due to malnutrition hahaha! Oh and did I mention that I've killed about 50,000,000 spiders since I've been here? Okay, more like 5...and they aren't the cute little tiny ones that you find every once in a while. These things are HUGE! We've set up some traps but they still like to come out and laugh at us, that is until I stomp on them 20 times...suckers...
Other than that, things have been great! Despite being incredibly busy, Peter and I still find time to sit and relax and realize how lucky we are to have each other. Only been married one and half months and we still get butterflies:) but don't tell the spiders!

Finally! Wedding Pictures!
I have been waiting forever for my wedding pictures to come! Every once in a while I would get four or five from my mom via email (that was all she could send me at a time), but it wasn't enough for me. I had to have more! Finally my parents came to visit me and brought me a disc full of wedding pictures! Obviously this isn't all of them but they look great!
First Post!
Finally we have a blog! Peter's sister, Lori, convinced us to start one and so we decided to enter the wonderful world of Bloggers. It's kind of sad though that we have finally started a blog and we have nothing of real interest to write on our first post. Oh well! We hope we get more readers and we hope to keep this updated as much as possible. We both work a lot and now that school is just around the corner, we don't know that much will be posted right away. But you never know! We might have a few minutes here and there to let everyone know what's going on in our lives.
Until then!
Until then!
